Land Yachting is a great sport with a history that stretches back thousands of years. The modern day land yachts are both sleek and lightweight and are capable of travelling seriously fast with speeds of 50mph+ not uncommon....with no brakes! Land Yachting has become more and more popular and its easy to see why; it is both adrenalin fuelled and accessible the yachts can be transported easily and the sport creates no noise pollution or site damage. Our Discover Land Yachting experience is designed to give you a real taste for the sport you will be surprised at the progress you will make and can expect to be 'sailing' around a circuit by the end of the session. Experience Content :: Your session will start with a briefing covering safety and basic techniques before you start having a go in the Land Yacht; initially you will sail at low speed mastering how to stop the Land Yacht (very important as it has no brakes!). You will then be taught how to turn the yacht and as your confidence builds you will move on to a figure of eight course which allows you to practice safe and controlled turns. Depending on your progress you may finish the session learning more advanced skills such as gybe turns. Mountain Boarding also known as All Terrain Boarding (ATB) is an extreme sport that has really exploded in the UK over the past few years and is seriously good fun. A Mountain Board is a kind of a cross between a skateboard and a snowboard which can be used on slopes covered by grass or sometimes dirt. The basic principle behind Mountain Boarding is fairly simple - get down the hill having as much fun as you possibly can. Nice. Our Discover Mountain Boarding intro course is the perfect introduction to this very accessible extreme sport you can realistically expect to be carving down the hills by the end of the session and be set to continue the sport on your own. Bruises guaranteed - you wouldn't want it any other way!On arrival at the centre you will be met by your instructor and supplied with all the kit for your session which includes the mountain board helmet and pads. You will then be given a safety briefing determine whether your stance is regular or goofy and learn the principles behind the most important move in mountain boarding which is power sliding or if you want to be technical stopping! It is then off to the junior slope to have a go! You will practice your power slides and then be shown how to perform moves such as toe turns heel turns and how to carve down the hill. You can move on to the big slope as soon you are ready where you can continue to practice your new skills and be shown how to use the drag lift. A really fun half day a great experience. Windsurfing is also one of the most cost effective ways of having fun on the water and with the introduction of modern equipment and innovative training techniques it is now easier to learn and pick up than ever. If Windsurfing is something that you've always fancied then our Discover Windsurfing intro could be the perfect taster for you. It consists of two hour's private tuition with an experienced instructor the progress you make will really surprise you and it is very realistic to expect that you will be sailing across the lake or lagoon by the end of the two hours. Experience Content : Upon arrival at the centre your instructor will meet you and get you kitted out in your wetsuit. You will then be introduced to the equipment before doing some work on dry land with a simulator. It's now time to hit the water under the watchful eye of your instructor who will constantly provide tips and advice to make your progress as fast as possible. This two hour introduction will give you an excellent insight to the exciting world of windsurfing and give you a real feel for the sport. You can realistically expect to be sailing by the end of your session which will leave you ready to come back and give it another go in order to learn some further techniques.
